THE P.JAY'S PIZZA STORY
Mario and Angelina Mastroianni instilled in their sons a love of everything Italian—the country, the people, the traditions and the food.
A shoemaker by trade, Mario understood the importance of quality materials and fine craftsmanship. So when he made Sunday dinner for his family, he used only the best ingredients, cooked fresh and carefully prepared. His spaghetti and meatballs are a family legend. And Angelina, a homemaker renowned for her freshly baked bread, insisted that food served at her table be made from scratch— with love—the Old World way.
THE MASTROIANNI
FAMILY TRADITION LIVES ON
When their son Chris Mastroianni opened his first pizza shop in 1974, his parents told him, “Use only the best ingredients, prepared fresh.” In fact, he not only took their advice, he hired them both!
Starting with his father's homemade tomato sauce recipe and his mother's made-from-scratch pizza dough, Chris used only the finest quality meats, vegetables and cheese to create an especially flavorful pizza with a uniquely satisfying taste. Under the watchful eyes of his parents, that was the beginning of P.Jay's Pizza.
In 2018, another family-owned business took over ownership of this storied pizzeria and continues the traditions of the Mastroianni family.
